The following portraits were taken over the span of 6 years while serving as a missionary in Baja California south. The faces and families I met along the way reveal a humble nature within the spirit of each and everyone of them. Most of these indigenous families have fled mainland Mexico in search of economic stability working in the migrant labor camps outside of the desert in Vizcaino. Sadly, many live in squalid conditions run by corporations that devalue the integrity of their employees keeping them repressed and a slave to their system. It is my desire to evoke the viewer to empathy and compassion towards these individuals who have continued to remain lighthearted and steadfast in their humanity.
