The following portraits are from Baja California while serving as a missionary with Calvary Chapel of Napa. The faces are the people living in poverty working in the migrant labor camps outside of the desert in Vizcaino. Most of these families are indigenous people from Mexico's poorest regions who were enticed by large agricultural companies to work in the fields for little pay. Their squalid living conditions are a blatant reflection on how stark a contrast these companies put an emphasis on its pristine produce over its employees. In the years that I continued to travel back and forth documenting the people and its landscape, I directed a program called "Ninos con Camera's". I was able to hand out disposable cameras to the children and have them document their lives in the camp as seen through their eyes. That portfolio is currently under construction and will be ready to view in Spring 2024.
